The Choir of the Archbishop Grammar School

The Archbishop Grammar School Choir was established as a selective music body under the auspices of the Prague Archbishopric. It has been working since September 2006 under the leadership of Igor Angelov, the conductor.

It is concerned mostly with Gregorian chant, old renaissance music and also spirituals. Since its foundation it has been practising Händel's Messiah, which is an extensive long-term project. The rehearsals take place on the premises of our Grammar School in the School Chapel.

Our choir-singers represent our school both in the Czech Republic and abroad by their music. They have already been to Russelsheim, Germany, (in 2007) and Rome (in 2008) where they also gave a performance in St. Peter's Basilica in Vatican City. Besides that they usually sing at Christmas and Easter concerts at St. Ludmila Church every year and at school concerts twice a year.
